F-350 with 6.4 questions

I am looking to get a used dually. I don't like the new body style but that puts me in a 6.4. I have read a lot of mixed reviews. I had a 6.0 and I guess I got lucky because I didn't have anything major go wrong. The truck I found and absolutely love is a 09 f350 with 25,000 miles on it. I will keep it 3-4 years with an average of 20-22k miles per year. I plan on doing the EGR delete along with the DPF. I have read a lot if info about these and just want more. Lol. Definitely concerned but I really don't want to spend the money on a 6.7

I too had a 6.0 that was problem free. Traded on a new at time 08 with 6.4. A few months ago I had 2 injectors replaced. Actually run perfect it just clattered once for a min or two. I put my programmer one and checked code. Since then I had some "stuff " removed. Holy cow what a difference!!! If you get one get it deleted, just know they are hard to find tuners for now, and when you do they ain't cheap.

I have a 08 f-350 6.4 with 112446 miles ( bone stock ) with -0- Issues I like the truck alot but want the 6.7 some day

Well I saw a GMC Denali and that was it. No 6.4 issues. Lol

I have an 08 6.4 deleted that has been good to me. You are going to have nothing but mixed answers with the question you ask. Some love the 6.0 some hate it. Some love the 6.4 some hate it etc. I love mine but I would suggest deleting the egr and dpf

I had a deleted 6.4 for 2-1/2 years with no problems. I loved the truck but decided to downsize to a half ton. My best friend also has one with same results. Mine was a late production 08 and his is a 10. I was very picky on my buy and made sure to scrutinize every detail before I bought. Good luck.

I have a 6.7 f-350 fleet side and I love the power It had. I bought mine with 79k miles. I've had mine for 2 months and have put maybe 2-3k on it. Hands down best engine. Or you could look for a 7.3. My brother drives one and it still has power.

We have a 6.4 for our school ag truck. I would take a 6.0 and put $$$ into it to bullet proof it over a 6.4 any day of the week. our 2 wheel drive 3500 SWR gets maybe 13mpg on a good day and drives like crap.
