Looks to be about 8.5 feet long!

No idea the exact name, I usually just call them a heart attack snake.

According to the National Audubon Society field guide to Reptiles and Amphibians it is the subspecies :Banded or Broadbanded, of the Southern Water Snake. " Commonly mistaken for the venomous Cottonmouth, it defends itself vigorously when disturbed."

Broadbanded Water Snake, completely harmless but will bite the dog out of ya... (I know) plus they smell awful....
