              The lesions don't appear large enough to be bot fly larvae ("warbles"). More than likely it's Squirrel Fibroma Virus, a type of pox virus found in gray squirrels. Here's a link with some pictures that may help you with your diagnosis.

                BB gun kid and a really slow squirrel?

                The lesion on the front leg makes me think bots. Looks freshly open.
                Lesions could be an answer though.

                  Well, no more wondering he can survive the infliction. I found him laying dead in the driveway Saturday morning. So long ole Pal.
