Hunting Fee To Drop To $1.00 For Seniors

Now I'm liking this. Texas should have thought of it first.

Sportsmen and women older than 75 would pay just $1 for hunting and fishing licenses under legislation the Illinois Senate has approved.

You have a long time to go before you get to 75...

Guess that will be an un-noticeable loss in income.........aint many 75 year olds spending time in the woods from my perspective.

I know a few in their mid 70's and older still enjoying the great outdoors..... Including my dad who just turned 75.

I've had a lifetime license for about 30 years so I could care less.

I do also..........probably hundreds of advanced seniors out in the woods, but as a percentage it is neglible to the states coffers!

I doubt TPWD will ever adopt this $1 or free hunting. The director of the hunter ed program was always complaining the state was loosing 10 seniors for each 16yo new license sold.

Resident Combo Senior Hunting and All Water Fish....$26...vs...$60
                            Annual Public Hunting Permit..................................$48
                            State Park Standby Hunting Permit..........................$80
                            WMA Standby Hunting Permit.................................$130
Plus any other stamp endorcements required.
