    Planting Bermuda Grass Seed

had a scraper on property so now have about 3 to 5 acres to re seed. What fertilizer do you use and techniques. I know you wanna make sure you don't bury too deep. Pretty sure it was about 5 lbs of seed per acre. Also was told you can plant about any time. ----not seasonal so much?
    thanks!!

You can get your soil tested and they'll tell you what fertilizer to use. But I usually just use triple 13 and a broadcaster. Then chain harrow it when I'm done

More than likely, if Bermuda was doing okay before, just drag it in with a harrow or piece of chain link an it will do fine. The fertilizer will do more for the existing grass than anything. Lime it

Don't know if it's any constellation, but I have friend who has an agronomy degree from TXAM. I just asked about fertilizer the other day. He has experience in landscaping and grass care. He stated to use 15-5-10 which is best for most Texas soils. Hope it helps but not sure if it will do much good on a freshly seeded new lawn.

First number in your fertilizer is nitrogen. Grasses love N. So 15-5-10 looks like a good guess without a soil test. That said, I have seeded lots of bermuda on unknown soils with triple 13 and triple 15 at about 300 lb. per ac. and had good results. Main thing is to have your seedbed in really good shape before you plant because too much dragging after planting will put too much cover on those itty bitty seeds. You don't want that !

I'd be more concerned about water than fertilizer. If water no problem, then a 13-13-13 fertilizer

Planted some this year you've got to keep it wet.

Have put out that kind of seed with an airplane. Now that can get inteesting. Those seeds are so small that they are very difficult to regulate out of a spreder in a plane.
