    New Rat Trap Works

My dad's friend found this on this forum, so we tried it out this weekend and the very first night we caught 2 rats immediately. The rain from this weekend wore the peanut butter off so I'm sure we could have caught more. Here are some pictures. Easy setup. Bucket half full of water. Peanut butter on can on a coat hanger drilled into bucket. Ramp leading up to bucket.

I cannot tell you the disappointment I have in not being able to see these pics. It's like catching a 8' rattler and not producing pics; or finding bigfoot and only being able to produce a drawing your son made….utterly disappointed.

That's pretty genius. Then, when you catch a bucketful you can fill the bucket with gasoline and blow 'em all to hell where they belong…..I don't like rats.

I tried this and needless to say.......flopped. It could have been a maintenance issue, as I built it and then left for North Dakota for work. The kids were to maintain the water level. For all I know its up there in the attic with skeletons of misery.

I've caught a half dozen in mine. You have to make a little ramp to the top of the bucket for them. Anti-freeze in the bucket kinda embalms the rats so they don't stink, or water and check it everyday.

So they just drown? And here we have another thread going about how cruel nature is.

I would not recommend sitting the pot around here. I've seen some serious man food consumed...at least take some matches in there with you. ..
