Shaking Hands

I watch Pawn Stars often to see the stuff people bring in. Interesting stuff sometimes.

The part of the show that draws my eyes are the hand shakes. Seems that their hand shake procedure is to look down and away from the customer as if someone has just been screwed. No eye contact?

I can't stand to watch Corey shake hands. He looks like he doesn't have a clue what he's doing. The guys from American Pickers are just as big of goobers but at least they know how to shake hands.

Thats not gouging. Gouging is when I have no choice and I'm sitting a gas pump paying 5 times the rate.

For whatever reason they don't look em in the eye the dealings on "pawn shop" seem questionable from the gitgo.

I understand what everyones getting at, but I'm not a real believer anymore of a firm handshake and look someone in the eye makes you a man. I've had way to many people screw me over or go behind my back. I think a hand shake is a hand shake. More of a nice gesture then anything else. My 2 cents.

on the other hand(no pun intended) the break your hand hand shake is way overrated. Just shake my hand. You don't have to prove you can squeeze out an entire large tube of cheese whiz with one grip.

its getting to where a handshake does not mean what it used to.. back in the day
it was used to seal a deal. as in a mans word with a handshake. was all it took

oh man.....your grandmother?? that is wrong on all levels. Sometimes its fun to mess with the macho man type(in their own mind) and give them the limpy hand. It makes him curl up in a ball and cry

then the focus immediately shifts to the doofus trying to sell whatever piece of crap they've brought in.....
