Things to do in or near Clayton, NM?

Last time I was there I didn't have enough time to explore much around town.

Seems like a nice, peaceful little town. What kind of fun activities are there to do and sights to see? I had to leave early the next morning before any of the other businesses opened up.

Preferably I'd like to visit again before the hot weather moves in.

58 miles west is Capulin Volcano National Park, about the only thing to see around there.

OK, thanks. Yeah, I remember seeing the sign for Capulin. There were chunks of volcanic rock many miles to the Southeast along the highway. Made me curious if they came from Capulin.

We used to fish the lake from time to time and go see the dinosaur tracks...not a very pretty lake.

Their Subway is pretty nice. Besides that not much.

Knots Sporting Goods has a ton of stuff and a lot of old stuff you would have seen 20 years ago. Interesting place.

Stop and have the ribeye and some brews at Eklund's. Great steak last time I was there.
