I think someone had the same exact thread about two weeks ago! LOL!
I am divesting slowly over the next 2 years as subscriptions run out. For some reason the articles from bowhunting in the late 80's and early 90's seem to be repeating themselves. The advertising is also ridiculous and obvious. I was getting EACH AND EVERY bowhunting mag and now down to two. I will keep SCI, LSBA, TBA as they are tied to issues I support that are industry wide. F&S and Outdoor Life both got cutoff about 4 years ago............definitely the same ol stuff!!!!!!!!!!

I only subscribe to F&S. Not all the articles are applicable to hunting and fishing in Texas, but I still enjoy it.

I was just thinking about creating this thread a few days ago. After letting me subscription go for TTHA, I am now magazineless. I think im going to give Eastmans a try.

bowhunter, and, petersens bowhunting are the only 2 that i take ( and they are basically the same )

i did Outdoor life for a couple of years, but have let that run out.

What's the BEST hunting magazine that covers TEXAS?

Texas Fish and Game is the best magazine. Lone Star Outdoor News is hands down the best publication as far as the outdoors goes and it comes twice a month. Texas Outdoors Journal is another good one. I get all three plus TPWD. Between them all there is plenty of great content.

F&S and Outdoor life are pretty much identical. Same authors and same stories. Ive even seen the exact same pic a few months apart. Needless to say I let both run out and take Petersons right now.

Elk Hunter Magazine, is only quarterly but I have been getting it for the past year and a half. Great magazine and only hunting magazine I read front to back. But I want to kill an elk in a bad way so YMMV

None, none and none. Not what they used to be. 100 pages of advertisement and 5 year veteran bowhunters doing the writing in a lot of em.
