Guess what disabled my stick welder...

Needed to build another disk cooker stand since I gave mine to my son. Got it all together & tried to fire up the welder... no dice switch would not "click" to the on position. It is a Lincoln Stick welder. So... I took off the back panel and what do I see.

Dirt dobbers nest... Was able to clean it up and welder fired up.

Thanks for the reminder, pulling my trailer this weekend and need to remember to check before firing up the water heater. I have the cover that prevents them but would rather deal with it in my driveway over the campground.

Got my pole saw out the other day to trim some limbs. Saw the primer bulb was cracked and no good (stupid ethanol BS I am sure) and got it down to work on it.

Flywheel was about half covered in mud from them.

Guess I will find some kind of cloth bag to cover motor when not using

I had a similar problem on a portable welder several times. Those suckers will get into anything.
