I use mine for food plot fertilizer. There is not a law against wanton waste of non game/trash fish however you can be fined for illegal dumping if you leave them laying on the bank. Plus it doesn't sit well with the anti crowd. Couple hundred pounds of carp through a chipper shredder sure makes the turnips grow though!

From what I've heard, carp are tasty fish and in many countries (and the U.S. when carp were first introduced) carp are cuisine affair. Also realize that carp are rising in popularity as game fish (see carppro.net. There are my fly-fishing bucket list) so in my opinion it's even more important to show we can treat the resource with respect by using them for something useful whether that's food or for fertilizer.
Just remember one man's "trash" fish is another man's freshwater bonefish...

In the day we could throw em back.... most would live. Now you can't so I feed buzzards on a back lot of ours. 3 days and you can't tell where I dumped them, and that's with over 1000#
Make great fertilizer for land and lakes. If you like to eat em great, I don't care for carp or buffalo due to bones and prep work. Gator gar is ok, long nose and spotted gar are horrible.
Coyotes
Coons
Armadillos
Opposums
And most feral hogs I shoot make the list of things I kill that I don't eat..... Guess my dad didn't raise me right

lots of animals need killing that aren't table fare, coyotes, coons, bobcats, mountain lions, etc.
its not written that you MUST eat everthing you kill, as some animals aren't fit to eat.
Carp are an introduced species, and can overpopulate a water way. look at the Asian carp that are clogging up rivers up north.
You shouldn't feel bad for killing a carp and dumping it, it dosent go to waste, buzzards, cats and coons have to eat too.
