Go to a shop and shoot the Mathews, Hoyt, Elite, Bowtech, and any other they have. Pick the one you shoot the best, these are all top end bows and shoot as well as the shooters ability. If you would have filled out your profile and we could tell where you are from, we could give you some advice on what shop to check out.

Find a local bow shop and stop in for a chat. Tell the folks there what you are wanting to do and your budget. They will let you try all the bows in that price range. One of the bows will tell you "buy me" and you'll be all set. If you don't "click" with those folks, go to another shop.

Yep, shoot everything in your price range(make sure its set up properly for your draw length.) One will stand out above the others. Thats your bow. The high end bows are in the $7-800(bare). As for new in your range, check out the Mission, Diamond, Reflex, and Bear lines. All of these have great bows that fit your price range. You will have enough left over to set up your new bow with sights, rest and other goodies. One that stands out to me is the Bowtech Tomkat. I shot one and thought it was outstanding for the price. Good luck and happy hunting.

Welcome, they 'even' let somebody from Cali join the campfire. Is your budget of $600-$700 for the bow only, or the kit-and-kaboodle? The remaining goodies (rest, sight, arrows, quiver, release) can add $2-300 to the outlay for the bow.

Or you can start with traditional, and go that way with a recurve or longbow.

Where are you located, if your close to Weatherford or Ft Worth I'll meet you and help if you want. There are some good package bows out there now but before you buy a bow based on what people tell you, go shoot some at a shop. You'll feel one you like, just block out brands, it's only a name on the front of the bow. Shoot what feels best to you regardless of name, brand or price (as long as it's in your pricerange) If you want help you can pm me.
If it were me I would stay away from ebay because you don't know if you can trust the seller, or if they know what thay are talking about. Guys sell some on here in the classifieds and I would trust the folks on here.
