My best guess is it looks like a wolf spider getting ready to molt.

FYI - brown recluse spiders are pretty small and hang out in quiet dark places...

sorry guys i should have posted more info. I just got this pic from my son whos in the military, there holding on to it as a pet. They call it hilary. lol he was just wondering what type it is, tried to google it but cant figure it out. thanks for the imput
