can a 120volt mig welder be used for aluminum???
i know it would take a different gun but would the machine do it?

IT CAN DO IT , but to get quality welds you'll need better than a 110 machine

It can be done with regular mig gun and the right alloy wire but it is a pain to get spool tension set right dont forget your argon.

It will work if you buy the spool gun. Watch the wire tension, get the metal clean, make sure you run argon. Will take some playing with it but it will work.

You would need a different bottle of gas, argon, and you would need to keep the lead as straight as you can.
