All that is needed to drink rain water is a sediment filter, carbon impregnated filter, uv light. Trojan max has a very good one. Bulb replacement annually is mandatory. Rain water usually has bird poop in it from washing the roof and such, so it usually contains coliform bacteria. I use the ozone more for treating water wells that have methane or have a weak submersible and bring it up into a tank. The tanks are a breeding ground for bacteria so constant treatment with ozone is very effective. It's the highest form of oxidizer for water treatment.
