    72 in a 65

SATURDAY cruising up 183 to go to my daughters birthday I am moving along with the rest of the traffic and I have the pleasure of one of Texas' finest pulling me over and says I am doing 72 in 65 mph area between Luling and Lockhart. Sure enough just as you leave Luling there is that 65 mph sign and it is the only one for the 15 miles to Lockhardt.

Ticket says 10% over posted speed limit.

My question for you more experienced travelers is is this typical? Should I just do the defensive driving and move on or is there any other recourse. The rest of the traffic was moving along at 70 mph too like the posted speeds on either side of 183 and the Luling Lockhart 15 mile stretch.

They even send you Happy Birthday emails for a few years after you've taken it.

Yep, should have stayed on the TOLL RD> ( 85 MPH )

If I were you I would do the deferred adjudication.

You chose to speed so choose to pay the fine or just take defensive driving. If others around you were stealing would you do that too?

Are you able to play the race card?

Defensive driving. You sped, you got a ticket, now you have to pay for it some way.
