Yesterday I was going with the family to a piece of property I am buying in Northern Williamson County. We were between Jarrell and Flroence when I see a red Jeep SUV newer model pulled over. There were two deer on the roof and the passanger was acting like he was checking on the load up top. I passed and didnt have a good feeling and pulled over about 150 yards on past. I look back and the passanger was standing with a rifle pointed towards the pasture. I had a BAR B QUE PIT trailer attached adn tried to U-turn. I could get turned around quick enough. The passanger got in the Jeep and they did a U-Turn and headed towards Florence. I was gonna put a pistol under their chin and wait for the Game Warden that I was calling. I never caught up. If any of you guys saw this Jeep let me know where. Newer model Jeep SUV red over grey with two whitetail on top Saturday 23rd. I got a good look at the occupants and know a game warden that wants to talk to them.

Bad thing about it my two kids watched the entire thing from the backseat and were talking about the guy and him shooting his gun from the road. It is Christmas weekend and I have to expalain to a 4 and 7 year old about WHITE TRASH hunting on the road close to where we will one day call home.

I would replace white trash with the word CRIMINALS!!!! They need to be caught,, as for white trash, I know quite a few people that some would put under that discription and they are good people...

You tried to turn around on poachers shooting a rifle with your kids in the car? Bad move bro. Get the license # if you can, but those guys were already proving how stupid they were by poaching from the road. They didn't seem to have any regaurd for other peoples property or themselves. Don't put yourself or your family in harms way bro. Maybe some one will read this post that saw those creeps and they will be caught.

Tuff as far as white trash some may put me in that catagory, I consider white trash people that abuse the system, disrespect mother nature, and try to get away with anything they can- if they are good people they would not qualify as white trash in my book.- as far as my kids in the car as soon as I did get turned around my wife and kids hit the ditch and waited for me- and people with guns dont really bother me too much becuase most are not trained how to use them in any tatical way.

you may want to put up a sign on the inside of the gate for the folks coming out can see. Let know know to be on the lookout for the jeep.
A sign posted at the store in Florence and Jarrel wouldn't hurt. Maybe their parents or friends may see it and get turned in. Know it is a longshot but... even if they don't get caught, they'd know that folks are on to them.

I had the chance to meet glen..The badge on his chest & the gun on his side kinda let me know why he pulled up in a cop car...the poachers had no clue what they would have been getting to.. like I stated above I wish you could have got ahold of them..I dout he would put his wife & kids in harms way just like I dout anyone on this site would

As for the White trash comment I have made, Glen knows what I was referencing, as to this conclusion.....SOME people would reference white trash as being of a poor background with not alot of money or living in a house trailer, some people would call them white trash, What some people would call white trash, I would call good people..hope that clears it up for you bro..

i admire your zeal Glen, but these people are stupid to risk getting caught and get a felony. You should have just tried to get their license plate number or video tape them. It could have turned into a tragedy with your kids in the car. What if they would have fired into the car? or killed you? Sometimes we all tend to overreact and want to be superheros, but in reality, when you have kids our jobs is to raise our kids and provide for them. I wouldnt want to be shot or risk getting shot for some meth head....all for an illegal deer. Once again, its great you reported them.

edit: i didnt read that Glen is a cop. I guess its natural instinct to chase them. Shouldnt called for backups. Since firing from a road shoulda involved the police

It never occurred to me that people would call others white trash simply because they are poor or live in a mobile home. Where people live has nothing to do with what kind of folks they are, and some of God's most wonderful creations happen to be poor.

My question would be: Why reference WHITE trash...as opposed to black, brown, red, yellow, etc? Trash is trash, no matter what the color.

Not unusual in Williamson county. There are still a lot of people that do not think the laws are for them. Mom lives on Sam Bass on 1.9 acres and has had deer shot in her yard.
