    Mixed emotions on Mother's Day

5 years ago today I lost my best friend ever! He introduced me to TBH and a number of the old guard knew him. It always makes Mother's Day a day of mixed emotions. I sure enjoyed spending the day with my wife and kids and we brought my mom home from the nursing home for the weekend. I enjoyed every minute of it but Rusty was never far from my thoughts. Sure do miss you brother. I'm a better man for our friendship and I wish you're were here to watch the kids grow, chase game in the S Texas brush and go fishing, like we used to. Bausco is a lot older looking but we're loving him and looking out for him for ya. We all love you with all our hearts and miss you something awful; but we're comforted that you're in God's loving arms.

    RIP Rusty Brothers

God bless..."there are those in our lives that touch our hearts, our souls, give us inspiration and above all...value our friendship and love." Every day you can see your friend in one he left behind...one you now love and take care of. Of all the posts I see everyday, yes...I'm here everyday...this means so much and you have my admiration.

Just look into his eyes and it's easy to see it would take 0.0001 seconds around a campfire and we'd be talking like old friends...

Hope to see you on the other side Sir!

I gathered he was a solid dude from the few times we talked. RIP, tough to lose a good friend. I met him at BH.

Nice tribute Nick. Got to meet Rusty at y'all's place a couple of times. Great guy for sure.

Thank y'all for the kind words! Yesterday (and today) were/are harder than it has been in a couple of years. Kinda took my by surprise. So much good stuff happening right now that he would have been SO excited and happy about. I guess that's why it's particularly hard this year. Always nice to get some support from my TBH family!
