Working out and weight loss, it worked!

I have been working out and watching my diet for a while now. I started at 212 and wanted to build muscle, get in better shape and get down to around 180. I got to 183 before my foot surgery and when I started back around 190 it seemed like I hit a wall around 186. Last week I gained 3 pounds in a week but I lost 1% body fat. My personal trainer put me on a high protein low crab diet with 3 small portion meals and 2 protein drinks, around 1350 calories, per day. I started that last Monday and to my amazement when I weighed in yesterday, I weighed an astounding to me, 179.2 pounds!!!!!!!!! I have no idea how long I has been since I was under 180, but it sure feels good and certainly motivates me in my workouts. I am going to stay on this diet for another week then probably add some complex carbs. The workouts are still basically cardio with some weights thrown in, but we also do strictly weight training workouts. To go from 212 to 179 and loose 3 to 4 inches off you waist and looking and feeling better is amazing. At 1 week short of turning 61, I am very, very happy! It is a lot of work, but worth it. We have had 3 different guys my wife and I graduated with from high school die in the last month alone. Sure hits close to home and makes you think.

Congrats on the milestone Doug. I need to get back after it and get down around 170 I just have to make it a priority because it is not happening on its own
