    Lake Benbrook Area

The wife and I are moving to Crowley in about a month. Is the fishing good at benbrook? Or is there another lake close that is better? Is there any public hunting land around the ft worth area? Ill be moving away from my free lease in pleasanton and not sure if ill be able to find a lease.

Depends on what species of fishing you like. The lake is good but challenging to fish. There is public corp hunting on Benbrook lake that is decent.

Benbrook can be good, fantastic at times for hybrids and sand bass. The drought has the lake so low that I believe it is closed to boat traffic at this time.

Ive mostly fished for catfish and bass. The lakes that I fish arent really known for hybrids or whites. I would like to get into a big school of them and catch some fish nonstop. Whats the best way to go after hybrids, live bait, jigs, spoons maybe?

Look for them schooling and busting the surface, also watch for birds. Once you find them you can literally throw anything and you will have fish on instantly. Don't overlook the Crappie fishing on Benbrook, it can be great!! Catfish are best on jugs in my experience on BB.

Thanks, I'll check into the drawing. I haven't caught a crappie since I lived in Wichita Falls as a kid in the mid 90's.

It took over 30 pounds to win a bass tournament there last weekend, the next day it took over 25, lake has some heads in it.
