Any windmill(water pumping) experts on here?

Kindof looking for a used windmill to pump water from a well. Are they a pain to deal with? Looking for wisdom here.

Depends on how how deap the well is and how far your going to have to pump water after you get it out of the ground. Are you doing this on your own place? If so there might be some options for getting assistance for installing a new wind mill or a new solar set up.

Thought about doing the same thing with windmill, more for looks.

They are fine until you need them worked on. Not many well guys left that will work on them.

Not an expert at all, but the guys at work last night were talking about this. They said it was about the same price to do either one, but the windmill would require maintenance every few years. One guy has had the solar pump for 7 years and he said he's had no problems or maintenance yet.
