Big dog owner question

My sister in law told me about people tacking or stapling dogs stomach to their side wall to stop bloating And dying from excessive water drinkage and other things. any body here seen or heard of it?

I've heard of it, and had it done for a Dane, because bloat caused the stomach to turn. Keeps everything in place with dogs that have deep chests.

I've heard of it, and had it done for a Dane, but not for those reasons....it was for the stomach twisting. Basically just keeps everything in place.

So what is the vet name for it? , is it a expensive deal?

I wouldn't recommend doing it unless I had a dog that got bloat. I've had Danes for 8 years and never had bloat.

Not likely unless your going to run him on a full stomach of food n water that's what causes it. Do it the same as we do no running or swimming right after we eat.
