I'm usually the same way about mileage but 12mpg at $3.50 per gallon I'm not liking too much.

I figure if if can get 17 or 18 on highway I'm a happy camper. is this possible with either set up? even if I have to regear.

I have an 09 crew with 2 inch level and 285-75-20 (34') tires. After the front end replacement and rear bumper I can get around 13-15 in town and 16-18 hwy IF I keep my foot out of it and around 70-75. Hook a heavy trailer to it and might get 10, but it will pull it. On a side not don't overload the coil springs, we had 38 bags of corn and a 18ft trailer loaded with feeders, etc. I had to order new springs as the factory's now sag, but ordered some higher rated springs than factory.

I have never heard anyone say "I wish I had went with 33's over 35's"

I think that's pretty optimistic, even with re-gearing. And have you priced how much it is to re-gear? It's not cheap to have it done right.
