    Input on sprinkler system estimate

I got an estimate for a sprinkler system here in Corpus Christi and it seems a little high to me. They are proposing 8 zones with 45 heads to cover approximately 6000 sq ft. The lot is new construction with only house, dirt and new fence. They are wanting $5700 plus tax on materials for this. Is this high or am I just being cheap?

Seems way high to me. Should be more around the $3200 area.

Get a Plummer to install your back check valve and hook into the main line. Do the rest yourself. It's not to hard you can save a lot of money.

2400 to 3200 for your 8 zones! Any running under concrete like driveway or sidewalks? How far from main water line to where they plan to put the sprinkler control box?

Get more quotes. Did you ask the workers or the company owner for the quote?

They sent out an estimator. They will be crossing some sidewalks and not sure on the driveway. I have another company coming out tomorrow to give me their estimate. This one kind of shocked me as I was expecting about $3000.

I sent Rainbird a survey of my lawn. Total about 4500 sq ft. They recommended six zones and sent me a parts list. Should be about 700$ in parts and 125$ to rent a trencher. I haven't started the project yet.

I need to do this to my yard. I like diy projects esp when they save me a few thousand dollars.

you can save lots of $$ by doing it yourself and its easier if you rent a trencher, but there is still nothing easy about them. Straight up Monwell Laboure

I'm the owner of a landscape buisness in the Houston area and I would charge $4,950, permits, materials,Boaring under drive way and 2 year warranty. If it's a reputable company then they are biding high this time of year due to the heavy work load, wait 2 months or get another quote
