Are crawfish caught in "dry creek" safe/good to eat?

There is a creek that runs through our lease that is basically a glorified drainage ditch. It flashfloods whenever there is a decent rain, then stops running a few days after a rain.
There are several "holes" that will hold water for weeks/months.
I've been catching a few here and there in my minnow/perch traps and if I get enough, I would like to boil them.

Would they be OK to eat or should I just use them for catfish bait?
So far I've only caught 5 large ones and 2 small ones, so not enough to eat yet.
think about it this way,,, you probably eat chicken and eggs,,,, that there is a nasty critter.
you probably eat wild pork if your a hunter,,, ever been near a pig pen? that is another nasty critter...
you ever eat catfish,,, while they certainly do eat some not so nasty things,, overall they are the buzzard of the waterways! not much they wont eat, the stinkier the better!
I caught an ate crawfish from the drainage ditches in Beaumont growing up,,, and you don't wanna know what was flowing through some of them!!
purge them and enjoy just don't do it sushi style!

      You have 7 crawfish.

That is what I am wondering also.

I'm thinking just use them for catfish bait and buy some crawfish to eat.
