Some of the Highlights of my time there at archery country was spending time with Marcus the first time he came in with gov perry. Signed my copy of his book after we got his bow set up and just chatted it up with everyone for hours .

He's a good ole country boy that has seen heLLL and made it back again for god and country. I am better for having met him and learned the story of his teammates sacrifice

The one and only time i have ever met Gov. Perry was in Ramadi, Iraq. He was on a meet and greet tour for all active duty Texans. I got the seat next to him, during the lunch period all we spoke about was deer hunting and everything to do with it. Of course once i finished my chow I put a pinch of snuff in. He glanced over and saw it and said "do you have any stateside Copenhagen?" I said "No Sir, but would give an arm and leg for a pinch". He reached down into his back pack and pulled out a 10 can roll of Stateside Cope and handed it to me, while saying " here you go son this should last you awhile". All the while the Washington state governor was up there blabbing about how great their state was, Gov. Perry jumped up and completly cut her off and talked about the great state of Texas and all we have to offer for active duty / prior service military. Great times were had by all! I would love to meet him again some day to shake his hand!

People can say what they want to about him, but the Texas economy and its opportunity is greater than any other in this nation. Perry would have been 10x the Commander In Chief! Also, neither one of those guys has to ever worry about finding a place to hunt

Any man who would do this is a great man. He had enough knowledge and fore thought to bring stateside cope with him for the troops he was visiting and on top of that give a hero a brand new bow. I sure hope our next gov. is as good of a man as him.

Governor Perry has his faults, but as a leader of our state we could
of done a whole lot worse & not much better.
I really like to meet both of those guys.
