I have carried a .20 gauge red label for 30+ years. It fits me. Never had a issue after much abuse.
But you need to shoot several guns before you decide.
I have a bunch of Rugers. Junk? Hardly.

Normally they have several guns you can shoot on the practice fields. I've gone and tried just about all of them from Browning, Krieghoff, Perazzi, Zoli, Blaser etc. Doesn't cost anything, just leave a drivers license. I don't know if there will be any Rugers though. You just don't see them in serious competitions.

I won't be in the SA area, unfortunately.
I wonder if there are any large shooting facilities in the Houston area that offer "demo" guns to shoot so someone could get a feel of what o/u fits them best ??

American might but I'm not sure. The end of May there will be a Pro shoot there. Possibly may find one to demo then.

And Ruger doesn't sponsor skeet and trap shooters. That's ok though, I don't eat skeets or traps.

I would agree that the Ruger isn't built as "tight" as Browning and Beretta, but I've only shot about 15000 rounds through mine at dove, quail, pheasants, chuckarsk, ducks, turkey, and one really slow coyote. It's getting a little rough around the edges, but it's a long **** ways from junk.

He's correct about the Browning being "tight". I don't know of one that is tighter.

Browning Owners, I really like the product & I'm sharing this with all due respect: I just recalled one problem with that characteristic in the Browning. I reload about half of the shells I shoot. (Try to always use AA. Pick up every hull I ever see on the ground, but I keep good AAs and resize them) My hunting buddy had a BPS that jammed only on the reloads because it was so "tight" and conforming. Yes, the gun was clean. One other time on the range, a fella had a Citori that would not accept somebody else's reloads. I didn't inspect that gun or talk with the shooters. Just sharing that experience. Only 2 instances I've ever witnessed.

              Anybody else had this?

If you open one up in shoulder high CRP to reload, you better make sure not so much as a particle gets in there.

                  Thanks Guys for the input.
I will just go look at all of them.
I never even considered the Beretta...sounds like i need to look at it as well.
