What to do if your rescue helicopter needs to be rescued

Just call in a Chinook. This video shows a Chinook picking up a stranded Sea King helicopter that broke down during a rescue mission. Amazing the power of that machine.

Thats awesome! Those guys on the ground are dumba**'s for standing so close after the hookup cause that could be BAD if the sling broke!!!!! OUCH

I'm pretty impressed at how well balanced that other chopper was. I mean perfectly level at the rotor

I too felt the guys should have ran out of the danger zone after the strap cleared.

I could have sworn there were issues with Static Electricity, that would have fried the first guy to grab the hook from the Chinook.

He had a static line in his hand that ran to a ground point. He hit the hook forst with that. There are also insulated hook points that prevent the static electricity from building up on hook.

The guys were staying there to hold the guide line and to keep the helicopter steady as it picked up.
