where to take the wife

our 6th anniversary is coming up in may and we need to go do something. I was thinking about going to red river NM. we went on our honeymoon there and it great. and it was far far away. I thought maybe somebody on here would have a better, closer, idea......

I also thought about going to far west texas to see the davis mountains. its just as far. lol. anybody have tips on where to stay out there or things to do, ect?

you're suggestions are actually pretty good. I would throw in the train that runs from Dallas to San Antonio (and Austin, and probably other places) It's a great getaway, something different, and you can hang in those cities along the way.

But NM is hard to beat.

Go stay in the Gage Hotel in Marathon and have a nice dinner at the White Buffalo bar. You can still go to big bend and hike or ft Davis.

My other favorite weekend away with my wife is the Menger Hotel in San Antonio with dinner at Morton's Steakhouse and after dinner drinks at the Menger bar. Plus hitting the Alamo and river walk.
