To me, something that works 99% of the time aint worth my dogs life.

It's like a dummy shock collar. Once they test it and it wins they just learn boundaries and behave. It works 100%. My dog wouldn't even break boundary when batteries were dead. Just like breaking em off cattle. They learn quick.

My BIL has this set up. It took is full grown bulldog a few tries to figure why he was getting zapped, but once he figured it out he hasn't crossed it.

Should work good, IMO dogs see white flagging and associate it with a shock, so even though battery is low or dead when they see the flag the stAy behind it. That is of coarse if it includes white flagging like mine did..

I never even flagged it. I just took him around the perimeter. He learned quick. I've had 4 different dogs on it and never had 1 break thru.

I use the petsafe wireless. Works great on my bird dog

My neighbor had one to keep their hog dogs in. One day I was loadin up my lab to go dove hunting and one I their dogs ran into my yard and attacked her. It didn't end well for the hog dog, and I spent the rest of the day defending my actions am taking my dog to get stitched up.

They built a real fence the next weekend.

We have an invisible fence brand up here and it works excellent. Both the big lab and the little dog stay within it. The lab will venture out if we leave his collar off for a week or so, but only just a bit and when we put the collar back on he is good to go. It is a blessing! Not cheap, but less than a real fence. Ours covers almost 2 acres. Good luck.

Sounds like you need a "visible" fence.

I had the invisible fence and it worked great until something dug up part of the wire and I caught it in the lawn mower and ripped out about 200ft of the wire. I wouldn't recommend it for aggressive or hard headed dogs.

Sounds like your neighbor is a moron. Nothing can fix stupid. I have a real fence. Dogs can't dig under the invisible one. No wire. No worries

Have a pet safe one for my lab and cur/cat/plot mix. Lab doesn't even wear the colloar anymore and stays away 10+'. Pup still tries is out every once in awhile. Hunt the lab with a collar so the initial warning is the same. Might help some on staying in the yard

I haven't looked at the wireless in years but when I did they didn't have the range I wanted.
