    Nutritionist help

A little background. I am 35 years old 6'3" 322lbs. Back in February I came away from a dr visit confirming high blood pressure and high cholesterol. at the time I weighed 347. Over the past 10 weeks I've dropped 25 lbs by changing my diet and started riding a bike everyday. I'm currently up to 10 miles a day riding my bike.

I am looking for a diet plan to continue the weight loss and compliment riding my bike. Enjoy riding and have set a goal to be able to ride the MS150 in next year.

    My current diet

    Breakfast
    Glass of water
    Belvida soft cookie
    Banana

If I ride in the morning I make a banana, strawberry, kiwi, and a cup of spinach smoothie. Later in the morning I'll eat the belvida.

    Snack
    Fruit or tuna on wheat

    Lunch
    Chicken,fish, deer meat patty,
Salad with spinach, red onions, and bell peppers.

    Snack
    Fruit

    Dinner
    Chicken,fish, deer meat patty

I guess I'm looking for direction in how to prepare different meals. It's getting old fast eating the same thing.

My long term goal is to reach 220 lbs.
I know I have to make this a permanent lifestyle change with my eating and exercise.

    Thanks for any help.

what works for me is look for foods that are as natural as possible, low in cholesterol, and then just eat in moderation

try steaming vegetables, fish, etc. try baking or sauteeing in olive oil
          use the grill.
lowfat cottage cheese over large sliced tomatoes.
avocadoes cut in half and filled with salsa
fresh salsa with 10 or fewer chips to dip with, then drink remainder of salsa
navel oranges, watermelon, or apples when you get hungry at night

i am doing the same thing right now. i got the "hey your cholesterol is high and you are fat" speech from the dr and changed my habits right away as i dont want to go on medication.

have lost 20lbs and am back to my high school weight of 185. i am 42 yrs old for compare.

main thing is find foods you enjoy eating that are also healthy.
for me, if i am being honest, i had really stopped watching what i eat. so once i cut out the fast food, burgers, fries, etc... and stopped eating the other fried foods, the weight has started to come off pretty easily.
but it takes discipline and telling yourself no to keep from eating all the food in front of you...

I also agree that you need more for breakfast

i eat a bowl of multigrain cereal or a slimfast shake and a banana

i also try to eat smaller meals, but add mid day snacks of nuts or fruits to keep the metabolism going

I guess I lumped everyone together in a general statement. I'm looking for someone that is a dietitian that educate me on how I need to eat to match up with the riding. Ten miles a day isn't much but it's a start. I want my body to be able to be healthy as I ride.
On a side note about riding, it has been a great family time. I try to ride in the mornings before work by myself and after work my wife and two boys join me for another ride.
