Yea those ain't lady bugs, I've seen um but don't know what they are! A quick internet search does it look like these red pond mites??
Red Pond Mites: An anodyne for a gray day

A Limnesia looks on as two pairs of Piona grapple with dinner I suppose most gardeners have noticed red mites scurrying across sidewal...
Nope another look and I don't think so either!

Pic is a little blurry , but looks like immature Hemiptera. The order contains both benificial and pests. Most likely pest though.

I thought the same thing but these are Solid red. They have the same body style, but looking through google I could only find black with red stripes.?

Yeah, they are a nasty little critter. They love to eat on new mountain laurel growth.

If they are the red shouldered elder bugs, what would cause the infestation. Are they bad? Good? Any clue?
Thanks guys
