Accidental exposure is not unlawful in the State of Texas anymore if you have CHL just passed last year. I am not 100 percent sure, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

        This is from the article:

Personally, if I saw the same thing, I may not call 911, but it would make me curious to know who the guy is and what he is up to. Especially given the world we live in currently. Let this happen near my kid’s school and I’m going to be quite honest, I might ask you about it myself. (key board commando’s fill in your “I have tactical training and I’m an expert”, replies here).

We have a couple of those guys on here

I'm not a big fan of OC. The guy in SA was a jackass and was trying to start something. Gun Show Patriots are just as big a threat to 2A than most anti's.

so a gang member who has nothing to live for anyway,, walks up to you or anyone else with his open carried gun and decides to rob you, or just shoot you because he can, you will not be able to do anything about it , because he will not announce his intentions,,,, go to u tube and look at the "knock out game" videos which many filmed themselves or someone in their group did... every one of the victims was sucker punched, all of them were criminal offenses and they committed the crime anyway.... it would be no different with open carry,, the best advantage to a "CITIZEN" is concealed carry,, there not likely to allow you to carry in all the stores, banks schools or post offices,, so guess were the auto burglar is going to be waiting,,, in the store parking lot watching you get out with an empty holster or watch you move around trying to hide your pistol.... it will not be there when you get back,,,
society as a whole can not be allowed to just openly carry a gun we did that up until the early 1900's,, gun laws went into effect because of the people who were quick to resort to a gun,,
i do agree with back ground checks,, to carry,, but i also think anyone who has not been proven mentally unstable or even just hot tempered, should allowed to carry concealed.... but the macho attitude " i have an open gun on my hip" is wrong... that very idea is about being large and in charge,, i am billy bad ___ here is my gun, i dare you!!.
i am also against the 30.06 law of not being able to carry concealed in certain places because the very places most of those signs are at is were you most likely to need it!!!!
not left in the car with an empty holster, under your shirt...........
So you think gang members don't carry now or that hot heads carry now? Your argument makes no sense.

It was never against the law under a CHL but some people were not very good at reading and comprehending so they changed the wording.

It is nice to go into a restaurant and be able to take off your jacket or relax without having to worry about "covering up". The best part is you don't have to put on an over shirt or jacket when you get out to pump gas or to run into a C store for a bottle of water. I don't recall seeing very many open carry, except in a few gun stores or maybe Bass Pro.

If you think it will be a big issue you are over thinking it. Open carry will create no more or less issues than conceal carry has.

Don't pay any attention to him. He's our resident anti open carry LEO (or maybe former).

And yes, his arguments hold no validity whatsoever. I've seen no evidence of his chicken little theory holding any water in all of the current OC states.

Texas always likes to brag about being the leader in freedom and individuals rights but in reality our gun rights suck in this state compared to some.

It's written like a high school paper. However, however, however.... Law is law and it should be protected AND upheld by government. It's innocent until proven guilty until a "gun" is involved, and then the owner/ carrier is at fail dad must be disarmed. 3%

I may be mistaken (have been a few times and fessed up to it) but I took it that Mike was refering to the other poster not you. At least I think... lol

tvc, I like your post even when you convince me I'm wrong.
