Vibram Soles on Boots... What have you experienced..

Do you find this type of sole on snake boots or any other style of boots tend to wear out sooner than a standard sole? I am asking because I have a pair of ladies Chippewa snake boots that the bottom is now slick, no tread. I have used for approximately 3 years during hunting seasons, turkey - deer...
Deciding if I want to get re-soled or look at another boot. I love the boots and the fact they are so comfortable.. Thanks.

I have a pair of chipps as well for a few years and the sole has gotten pretty thin and slick but I still like how much cushion the vibram sole has on rock. Mine are so broken in not sure I want to get another pair either

I like them a lot but they wear pretty fast.

i find the durability doesn't outweigh the comfort. they certainly wear faster but an acceptable percentage for me

Yes, they do wear a little bit easier, but the Vibram sole is the best out there. They are designed to wear and be resoled. This way you are not walking on bad soles that will cause orthopedic problems. I have used Vibram soles for the past 25 years. I will only buy boots that have a Vibram sole and then I will have them resoled.

I am sure you wear them every day in your line of work, how often do you purchase new ones?

My last pair lasted 3 years, but i drug them along a little longer than I would have liked to.

All of my boots have vibram soles. Been wearing them out for 16 years. Wont wear anything else on my duty boots until I retire. Three years is pretty good for them, Im replacing every 6-8 months

Thanks. This gives me a betters perspective.... I found a place called Nu Shoe at 877 687 4631. They will replace them. That is great new. Beats the price of new snake boots... They have a nice website too - http://www.nushoe.com
