FYI: New Computer Virus
There is a new virus the appears as "WINDOWS SECURITY WARNING." It prompts you to scan for virus's that have been detected, then prompts you to quarantine or delete the virus. Like a fool, I thought it was legit and did the scan. It then "give's you the opportunity" to download WINDOWS ADVANCED VIRUS PROTECTION, which I declined but it was too late. It shut down my Microsoft Essential's anti-virus and whatever I thought to do would NOT leave the Window's Anti-Virus screen. That was last Friday and today, after spending $$ I did not need to spend, finally got my computer back. My "IT" son, who has his own computer company, told me it is a VERY invasive virus just like the company I had fix it also told me. It invades multiple sites and of course is a ANTI-VIRUS scam that tries to force you to buy theirs. If you see it pop up, from what I have been told it's too late. The virus invades from multiple sources but FB and YouTube were mentioned as culprits. I know to NEVER access "pop ups" that suddenly appear and this is the first in a LONG time that got me. I PUT IT UP AS A THREAD BECAUSE IT IS TORTURE to try and visit TBH on a Iphone. Hope it does not get any fellow TBH'rs!
