At the movies to see "God's Not Dead", we saw a trailer for "Heaven is for Real" coming this Easter. It has to be a gotta see movie. I plan to see it as soon as I can. I bet it makes this old man cry and I will be glad it is dark in the theatre.

I saw both in preview screenings(my fiance gets a lot of preview invites because of past work).
God's not dead was, IMHO, very heavy handed with its message. Reminded me a lot of a youth group play(acquire the fire, I think it was) I saw way back when I was in HS, before I was saved. As a skeptic at the time, I thought the premise was brow-beatingly tacky then, and still do, even as a believer. Some of the dialog was good, but none of the philosophical arguments were fleshed out like I hoped. They had an opportunity to really address some serious skeptic POV's, but chose to stay on the laymen surface. Instead, it came off like that old skit. The character arch-types were very stiff, tho well acted. I just came away rolling my eyes at the ending. I would not recommend it to non-believers or anyone on the fence.
However, I loved Heaven is for real. fantastic movie. A ton of allergens in that theater... Not ashamed to admit that I cried. This one, I can and do recommend to anyone and everyone. Non-believers and devout followers alike. Realistic and complex characters, fantastic dialog, well acted, and a moving story. Take everyone you know to see it.
