Deer and milo?

I know someone had asked about sunflowers before,,planting 2 acres of milo,will deer eat on it? Thanks

In my experience deer will eat it when its just pops out of the ground. If it survives that stages then they will leave it alone until all the tannins leach out of the seed head. Depending on the variety its very bitter tasting until the tannins leach out.

Hopefully you don't have hogs. They destroyed my 2 acre crop a few years ago when it was about 12-15 inches tall. They ate it to the ground!

That being said its not very high in protein.
