    mounting solar panel

I have one feeder with an integrated solar panel that works very well so I bought a couple Moultrie panels for my other two feeders. I could see coons tearing the panel loose if I just use the mounting hardware that came with the panels. Could also see the wires getting torn loose or eaten by some critter. Any suggestions on mounting these from the school of hard knocks?

All exposed wires in metal flex conduit. Face south, 45 degree angle and wipe the muddy footprints off them is all you can do.

If you have a box under the barrel that the motor timer and battery are in, mount the solar charger right to the side of that box, No exposed wires for the coons to jack with and it gets plenty of light to keep the battery charged. All of my feeders have been like this for years.

I have mounted all my solar panels directly to the timer boxes. No exposed wires. Everything is self-contained in one unit. Easy off and on to troubleshoot or repair

We always have problems. Even with the conduit, they still find ways to chew through the wires, or they hang off the solar panel itself

Mount to timer box and then put the round varmint cage thats the same diameter of the barrel.

Use the eliminator spinner plate and the coons will not climb on your stuff since they can't get the corn out by hand. I been running them with solar for years and never had one problem (yet).
