2nd turkey hunt and not a sound.

I haven't heard a gobble in 2 outings. Don't know what's up. I hope the drought hasn't put a hit on my turkey population.

Evenings or mornings? I've hunted 3 evenings and have heard a total of about 4-5 random gobbles. Then I hunt the same spot in the mornings and it's loaded. For one reason or another, our birds haven't been talkin durin the evenings

One of each. High wind today but starting to lay.

Wind is a turkey hunters nightmare. I have actually visually seen a bird gobble from 75 yards out and never heard him. Try and find some bottoms to get out of the wind. But as Clay mentioned, mornings seem to be better than evenings when the wind howls.

I'm not a rookie turkey hunter. I'm a rookie at not even hearing one gobble. Lol. I have killed several that came in and never made a sound.

My best birds are almost always taken around noon. I still hunt them at dawn/dusk cause it's just a pretty time to hunt in Texas. Haven't been out this season yet. Hope your luck gets better.

I wasn't offended. I have just never not heard a sound this early.
