    Interesting motorcycle and story

A guy who works for the company next to me rides a Ural motorcycle. It's Russian-built and the only Russian bike imported into the US. It's a copy the 1939 BMW design and it's been manufactured ever since.

When I asked why did BMW license that model to a Russian company, he said the story is Joseph Stalin really liked it and asked his then-ally Adolf Hitler, who said OK. It's been in production since.

Crazy story, neat bike and sidecar.

I had a guy come to my company today who had just moved to CA from China- he Belgian by birth. Anyway I pointed out the Ural in the parking lot- and he owns a Chinese version called the Chang Jiang. Apparently once Stalin had the rights in Russia, he licensed it to Mao for Chinese production. The tolerances and finish is worse than the Russian Ural.

3 politicians who killed north of 50 million of their own countrymen. Bizarre story.

I have a friend that owns one. He has the hardest time keeping it running though.
