Broken Arrow Ranch doing some different stuff

I'm watching bizarre foods on travel channel. They are at broken arrow harvesting some elk and then walking up and shocking the animal with a battery charger. They say it helps the flavor.... Never heard of this done before.

Never heard of a battery charger that would shock anything.

Shocking carcasses is believed to loosen up tense muscles making the meat more tender. Doesnt actually enhance the taste.

I have heard of this and seen it. They used to shoot axis and sika does commercially at the yo ranch. They would shock them immediately after. I was told it helped get some blood out of the meat and relax the muscle fibers. I have no idea if it helped.

Shot with a rifle, I guess? How long after shot before shocking? I've heard that the adrenalin rush after a shot impact can affect the taste of the animal's meat. This may be because of a flush of blood to muscles, which could then be relaxed and drained of this blood by as shock as docmay referenced above.
