Chl class ?

Taking my chl this weekend and was wondering what are the distances that you qualify at and how many rounds do you shoot?

20 rounds at 3 yards
20 rounds at 7 yards
10 rounds at 15 yards

It's really easy to qualify

If you score good on 3 & 7 yds you can basically flub 15 and still pass.

If it wasn't for the second amendment I'd say the test should be harder. But with the second, it shouldn't be needed...

Bingo Tommy Lee Jones!!!!!! It is shameful that we have to go thru this process for something that is supposedly our American right. Yes, it is downright simple to qualify.........bow qualifying for Hagerman is harder!!!

If you can't pass the shooting portion of the CHL class, you really, really don't need to be carrying a gun. I've never shot less than 247/250 on it and don't shoot very much. Don't sweat it.

In most urban everyday citizen oh crap situations, where one has to defend their life from a lowlife, the shots are probably within 5'. Ray Charles should be able to hit them...

3 yard line - 20 shots:

1 shot in 2 seconds, 5 times
2 shots in 3 seconds, 5 times
5 shots in 10 seconds, once

7 yard line - 20 shots:

5 shots in 10 seconds, once
1 shot in 3 seconds, 5 times
2 shots in 4 seconds, once
3 shots in 6 seconds, once
5 shots in 15 seconds, once

15 yard line - 10 shots:

2 shots in 6 seconds, once
3 shots in 9 seconds, once
5 shots in 15 seconds, once

And yes I've seen many a people that can't hit a piece of paper at 3 yards come to the range with me and have a chl.

You'll pass no problem. We had ladies that never shot before pass.

We had girls that never touched a gun pass when I took mine. And one of them missed a few times from 3 yd I believe.
