Not forever or it was the only spirit left on earth.

I'm thinking Stone IPA or Chimay Red
go to Specs and buy a Firehouse Brew DoubleJack IPA. so much better than Stone, but stone is my go to

As much as I love a hoppy and well made ale, I'm going to go with a lager:

Pilsner Urquell, from a tap, at the perfect temperature.

funny, one thread we have the anti's "dont do it" and this thread is full of suggestions from the people who do consume. Brother one aint gunna hurt ya, and at least you'll know that you got the urge behind you. Orrrr, you'll have a couple more after that one. Think about it, one beer just isnt enought, so why bother ? You did good, 100 days is a long time to go without a beer.

There are three threads on the first page with you talking about your sobriety/alcoholism. Are you trying to set some sort of record? You wont beat mhb's workout thread count record. Just a heads up.

I haven't given up, if you have paid attention to the multiple threads about my issues then you know that control is my issue. This is about regaining control of my addiction. How do you know if you don't try? Right...

I've been home since 1. I built me a 6 pack of micro "beer snob" brews from Brookshires in Ennis. I am looking to move away from domestic chuggers and enjoy a good beer every now and again. But, how will I know if I don't give it a try. Haven't even looked in the fridge. A previous issue was drinking alone, so I'm waiting until my wife and daughter get home so that I can sit on my porch, watch the storms move in and enjoy a beer with my wife.

If I kill them all tonight then I have proven that I'm a big gash and can't do it!! If I just have two, then I have tamed the beast. For now. I'll worry about tomorrow when it gets here.

MLank- 4-5 years ago we were in the Czech Republic drinking Pilsner out of a keg that was laid out in a mountain stream. That by far is the best beer I have ever had!!! Now the crap in a green bottle (which is all my wife and FIL drinks!!) is awful!!

Thanks for all of the help GS!! Wish me luck and enjoy your evening.

HMM...so you haven't even started and you have already lost control. You said you were just going to have one and now just two is a success. SMH

I hope you have a great evening. And I pray you have the strength to do what is right for you and your family, whatever that may be.

John 8:7 - Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone.

Here's my take on it. I can keep a 6 pack in the fridge to enjoy a couple a night with no problem. Leave a bottle of cab in my house and its gone that night. i drink for the flavor and enjoy the buzz.

I dont drink cheap crappy beer so the flavor is so much better than INBEV. for those tht drink anything in more than a 6 pack, their taste hasnt improved with age

If it is not too late, here is a suggestion.

Let your wife and kids read your original thread on stopping, and these two threads from today. Let them read by their selves, and give them time.

Then ask them what they want you to do.

They have at much at risk as you do, but it seems like you are the only one making the decision.

                                Good luck.
