Outdoor Apparel Company Owner Guilty of Massive Poaching Operation

My favorite part is where a hat with his company logo was left at the site of a poached mule deer and ultimately is what lead law enforcement in the right direction. What a bunch of jackwagons. Cutting the horns off a bunch of animals and leaving the meat to rot - and on private property.

        Wow!

The penalties and fines seem to be way to small IMO.

Amazing how unethical people can truly be.......even when it comes to the original sport of mankind!!! It's all for the.......children. I am soooo done when I hear people say that over the last 15+ years.
On the Live2Die website, Bauer states that he "...built his brand on the principles of living life to the fullest. With a goal to get more kids off of the video games, and get them outdoors." "One of the most important aspects of enjoying the outdoors is being responsible and ethical around wildlife," continued de Vergie. "Unfortunately, considering the extent of Mr. Bauer and his companion's illegal activity, this was the complete opposite of what we are trying to teach our younger generations." - See more at: http://www.archerywire.com/releases/....xUA5pMMN.dpuf

Exactly my though. Sounds like they got off way to easy. They needed to be thrown in jail for a while.......

They did all of this illegal activity and the fine is only $5,700 plus a 10,000 dollar donation. With slaps on the wrist this activity will never stop.

                What about restitution?

                Garbage.

This is truly sad, these guys preaching ethics and "for the kids" to sell flat bill hats, when in real life doing the complete opposite.

These flagorant poachers should be thrown under the jail, these fines were a joke.
Good job to the wildlife guys that tracked these ******nozzles down.

Cameron Hanes is listed under "friends and sponsors" at the bottom of their page. He needs to distance himself from the fools faster than Tabasco flavored edible underwear.

I bet these are the type of hunters that would kill three or four animals, use the tag on the one that has the best quality horns and let the rest lay.

They need to lose their hunting and fishing privileges in Colorado and California.

According to the article, they are contemplating revoking their hunting licenses (or ability to get one) in 41 different states?

I hope this is the case, I do feel like it wouldn't stop them from doing it again though.

It is idiots like these who give good ethical hunters a bad name in the media and gives anti-hunter groups ammunition. They knowingly poached these animals and wasted the meat and should serve time, not just a fine and loss of hunting privileges.

Jail time and felonies for killing an animal?

Maybe I'm the only one, and let me be clear I do NOT condone poaching, but making it a felony and serving jail time for it? To me that's ludicrous and absurd.

Again what these guys did was wrong. But wanting them in jail? Come on. .. it's not like they killed their wife. ..OJ.
