Has anyone installed a french drain for an underground spring ?

We are in the process of clearing some land we bought in Oklahoma. The ground is extremely rocky. We decided to put in a couple of RV spots in one area but we noticed that there are 2 extremely spongey areas right were we want to put the rvs. It is in a direct path with a spring that comes out of the ground about 200 yards away.
The only thing I can think of is to install a French drain but I've never had to do this before. Does anyone have any experience with this ? There is plenty of slope so getting the water to drain shouldn't be a problem if I give it a path .

Might take a while to dry out

But it is spongey form the water draining across the land or from water coming up?

Sounds like you have free water. I would take advantage of that, not divert it.

X2 and be sure not to pollute it with waste any where near it. Areas around it might grow food well too.

The water is coming up from below, the neighbor told me there is a limestone shelf below ground and that the spring is under that and comes up where it can find a crack. it is already coming up in another spot and draining into my creek, the water is so cold it hurts your hand.
I have to divert it and try to dry it out. The power pole for the electric is right next to it and i don't want to spend a couple thousand dollars on wire to move the proposed RV sites.

Drill a hole in it. Pipe it to surface with gooseneck on top, flowing into a large water trough. Plumb an overflow pipe from top of trough on out to where it's away from RV spot.

You have continuous fresh, cold, constant water supply.

I've thought about doing this as well. Im going to take the Back hoe this evening and see if i can dig down to find the rock shelf and the source to see ho much water flows when its uncovered, that should give me a better idea of what to do with it.
