    looking for bowhunting gloves suggestions

I want two pair...a lightweight with grip that a release fits through, no mesh, then a heavier wait...basically a warm pair with grip and release fit through. Dont want to feel like bow will slip out of hand..thx

I learned this year that padded gloves can be a no-go depending on how you anchor. I could not hit my anchor with gloves because I could not get a solid knuckle to jawbone connection and it threw everything off. Instead, I took the advice from folks on here and use a hand muff to keep my hands warm... and a warm hat that I can lift up over my ear (ie no full face mask.)

I use either a pair of glove liners I got at REI or some Under Armour running gloves -- they are both lightweight and fairly form fitting. Still cold, but they take a little of the edge off without sacrificing fit and sensitivity on my release.

Gloves and bowhunting do not mix in my opinion. For colder weather, do yourself a favor and buy a hand muff. Hands stay toasty warm and you sacrifice no dexterity. I'll never wear gloves to bowhunt again. As far as warm weather gloves go, I see no point. If you are concerned about your hands being seen when you draw, blacken them with come charcoal.

I have some that are perfect for bowhunting. They make them for warm, cold, and colder. I believe they are Sitka brand. Been using them for years with no problems. They have a hole for the release to go through. The ones for coldest are like mits and the top flips open when you want to shoot.

Put on a pair of latex or nitrile gloves under your muffs. Problem solved!

^^^ this... I have a pair of very thin camo Under Armours that don't make a huge difference... I practice with them on as well and they have grippers on the palm and fingers so the bow won't slip when I draw... Usually though I still don't have one on my release hand when shooting... I keep one over if it's really cold and slip it off and into my pocket if necessary
