    Oil field help??

    Hello,

I graduated from Texas A&M in December with a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Science. I'm currently working at Gander Mountain in College Station as a Receiving Supervisor as well as a project manager on a traveling team that goes store-to-store doing re-models and store openings; I have worked for this company for two years. I have experience/skills related to project management, customer service, data entry, and staffing. I am a very quick learner, able to work long days (14+ hours), and enjoy doing hard manual work.

I'm looking for an entry-level position that will allow me to utilize and enhance my current experiences and skills. I would like to find a position with good benefits and advancement possibilities. If anyone has suggestions or possible job connections, and would consider passing along my resume and list of references i would much appreciate it.

I appreciate your help and look forward to sending you my resume and list of references.

    Thanks,

    Adam

Hey brother, check out rigzone.com. Also, companies like Maersk, Seadrill, Transocean, ENSCO, and Noble all have new rigs coming out this year and will be staffing up. PM me if you have any questions. I'll be glad to help.

I saw that "want oilfield work" thread, I went to the website and all the positions i saw require prior experience. Is it worth applying without that or will my applications be disregarded if i don't have prior experience?

Try www.deepwater.com. Submit your resume online. Entry level positions offshore consist of AB seaman, or seaman and roustabout. You can advance quickly if you have a good work ethic show you want to progress in the industry. Most guys get hired on and get relaxed in entry level positions and end up staying there. Never could understand that logic, the way I see it as long as im out here might as well see how much I can learn and how far I can go with it. Work schedules usually consist of 21/21 or 28//28 with a ton of classes to take on your days off. Need current passport/visa twic card and a med trax would be a plus.

            Good Luck

A lot of oilfield positions say previous experience required. Quite a few will take you without, just expect to see the lack of experience reflected in your pay, and you better be a quick learner. Doesn't hurt to apply.

Hate to say it but if your looking to land with one of the majors that will be tuff. They recruit straight from college, every once in awhile they have job fairs but you won't find a position posted openly or soliciting from general public.

You will need to know someone who can refer you internally to HR and try from there or contact a proffesional labor and consultant company and get in the door as contract and do good and learn and after you put in some time you may recieve an offer to be hired on as staff.

                          Good luck
