    Knife value experts

Bought this little Case knife this morning at a garage sale
Any ideas on what it is worth?

Pretty sure I am in it for a good price
    Just wondered what I had
No other markings other than Case
    Guessing bird/trout knife
Pretty sure someone on the GS can help me figure out value
Had a sheath with it marked Case too

Need a better picture of the tang stamp.

Nice find. What did it cost you?

Looks a lot like this one...

I'll give you $12 Canadian for it.

          When can we meet?

$50 tops, but I'm no expert, I don't think it's old enough to be worth too much. The only special thing (that I can see) anout the knife, are the jigged(?) bone scales. Nice knife, no matter how much it's worth

              I gave $10 for it
Be nice if it was worth $225 but I doubt I did that good

More like what I was thinking it might be worth

I will post some better pics after I eat lunch

I did good at the garage sales this morning, other than the fact I had to buy all the stuff my wife wanted because "she forgot her cash"
Hit one place and everything I asked about the woman said $1
Spent $8 and got an armload of stuff including about 15' of chain with hooks, 2 pairs of Klein pliers, 2 splitting wedges, a hot shot (she almost did not sell it to me because I jokingly said I was going to use it on the wife and kids), wife got some old metal funnels and about a case of jelly jars for canning and a few more things

I'm thinking more in the $10 range but then I am sure no expert. I have both of my grandpaw's case 3 blade pocket knives and my maternal grandma's case 2 blade folder and I am near 68 years old so my knives are at least that old and are worth no where near $225. Asking price on Ebay don't mean much. Your knife is the exact same as the Ebay listing however. Nice knife anyway.

Well it looks like a new version #379 (M3FINN SS) retails for around $50 so it might be worth somewhere south of that. https://www.google.com/#q=case+%23379+%28M3FINN+SS%29

Looking at the Tang Stamp link that Gringo23 posted, looks like maybe "About 1940-1965". I looked around for a while on the net and never saw one with that handle type that size. I will keep looking. Might be rare, most I see have the leather handle.

This one SOLD on ebay for $86 so I would say you did pretty good. There are some others that are similar but in better condition that sold for upwards of $150. Good find.

Took it by the barber, he knows a thing or 2 about knives. He said the sheath did not go with it and that it was worth $25 which he offered to pay. I am guessing it is worth around $40 because he would resell it. He did say that if it had the original sheath and was in good to excellent condition it would bring about $65

I am going to hang on to it a while, was not looking to make anything on it. Just wondered what it was worth.

Trade it to him for 8 hair cuts. Now that would be a deal.
