Lockhart Smokehouse - Plano TX

Not trying to start a BBQ drama thread. Just wanted to say we tried Lockhart's new location in downtown Plano today.

Had the special for the day, burnt ends. Holy mother of smoked meat. That was officially the best restaurant BBQ I have ever had. I also ate a half pound of Brisket, moist with bark cuts. I'm still full. No sauce was needed, and I always use sauce. Not today.

I knew everybody in our party felt the same, as 5 dudes ate without talking for about 20 min

Line was about 40 deep prior to opening.
But the line went quick.

I have been to the one in oak cliff still waiting to,try the plano location. Really liked it

Definitely worth giving a shot. To me it's one of the best BBQ joints around that area.

Just sucks when you try going on the weekend around mid-day and they have a sign on the door saying that they ran out of meat and won't be back open till 6.

I was there last week. I had heard the rumors and it turned out they were all true. That place was awesome. Do yourself a favor and check it out. I went right at noon and had about a 30 minute wait. I think if you got a jump on the lunch rush or came right after it you'd wouldn't have much of a wait at all.

I ate it last Friday. By far the best around DFW. Try the shoulder clod next time too. I wasn't impressed with $4 pint miller lite drafts though.

Yea it would have been even better with a beer. I would have gotten fired when I got back to work, but I thought about it for a second

Haven't eaten at the one in Plano yet but the one in the Bishop's Arts District in south Dallas is off the charts! As noted the Burnt ends are to absolutely DIE for! Be careful which day you go b/c I think you can only get them on Thursdays if I'm not mistaken.
Their sides are really good as well. Try the Hatch chili pepper Mac n cheese, the potato salad and believe it or not, the deviled eggs! One of the only places in Dallas to get the Kreuz market sausage too.
