We just bought a 2013 with just under 11,000 miles on it fully loaded for $20,000 for the wife because she drives around 5000 to 6000 miles a month.

Kind of like my situation. I have to keep my truck around to pull trailers and my boat but I need a car that's more fuel efficient. It costs more than $6k for diesel per 20,000 miles in my truck vs around $2200 in a jetta tdi. When I did the math I was shocked.

This^^^^^^^ what you'll spend in maintenance on a used TDI in your price range will far out way the MPG savings.
